What is the world coming to?

I know i don't normally update on the current news, but i'm going to, for now.

I was looking at the news, about the happenings of the Planet Earth, and this is whay i find, in every article, is a death related one.

People killing, People dying. Just where is the love?

1) Sri Lanka clashes leave 16 Tiger rebels dead

Just another blast in a week. The word Tamil Tigers stand out when i read this because i study SS & you should know i enjoy this subject, so any article related to SS i probably will want to know more.

'Friday's bomb was just the 3rd bomb in the week.' Go have a look at the article if you want to.
Another sentence that stands out is this:

'Colombo has poured a record 1.5 billion dollars into the war effort this year, hoping for a quick end to the bloody conflict. '

The word bloody used here means the conflict that has led to lots of blood shed & not bloody in terms of the language that is used today.
They spend 1.5 billion dollars trying to end this war, yearly since 1972, hoping to end this conflict, they can spend thousands of dollars each year, but to me that isn't the point at all. The point is, there should be peace between the Sinhalese & The Tamils. & No money would be able to solve that. They should just leave the past as the past and move on without any hard feelings like wanting to take revenge or anything that sort.)
If that can't be resolved then in what other ways can the conflict be solved then?

Still about SriLanka (in a day's news):

2) 10 dead, scores wounded in Sri Lanka suicide blast

Just another event of something similar, another bomb that had blown. This time, the ground & building in that area shook in SriLanka. LTTE were killed once again.
I guess all this events is die to some provincial elections that is currently happening?

3) Bomb kills Afghan civilian, several rebels dead in air strikes

Out of SriLanka but still in another country, more people died in this bomb.

4) Myanmar says more than 133,000 dead, missing in cyclone
A natural disaster, but still lives were lost or missing. 'State television said 77,738 were dead and 55,917 missing -- with 19,359 people injured' More lives simply taken away..

5) Survivors emerge as China quake rescue intensifies

They are surviours, but more than 55 000 have died in this another disaster.

These are just 5 of the current news i've come to know about. Look at the amounts of lives that have been taken away? Well, Yes, in 4&5 it can't be helped, natural disasters do happen and they can't be prevented, but in 1&2&3? Can't a;; these be prevented if there was peace&harmony?

Look at it this way, i don't think we as Singaporeans should take for granted things that we have & values that we share. We shouldn't take for granted that we have a roof over our heads, a place to be in, and we can sleep through the night without being awaken by bombs/earthquakes/natural disasters. We shouldn't that for granted the idea that we don't see people killing one another because of their race or religion, and that we can live together as a country in an estate. We shouldn't take for granted that we don't see blood shed on the roads& pavements that you're walking on, that you don't see someone being killed or left injured in front of your eyes because they've got beaten up because of the colour of their skin.

Shouldn't we thank God, that we're living in Singapore & that we've always been protected from all these kind of natural disasters/bombings.

Why don't you just thank God?
